Hazel Ray Land, 92, of the Land’s Crossing Community, died Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, December 11, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Ray Johnson and the Rev. Tommy Land, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Fitzgerald, Saturday, from 10 AM until the service hour.
Mrs. Land was born October 6, 1929, in Rochelle, Georgia to the late Felton & Alice Hamilton Ray. She lived in the community all of her life and was a housewife. She loved watching gameshows, listening to Marty Robbins and Jimmy Swaggert. Mrs. Land was a member of Arp Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Ralph Land of the Land’s Crossing, Mike & Wanda Land of Land’s Crossing and Keith Land & Julie Allan of Tifton; grandchildren: Shane Land & Kelli Mulkey of Fitzgerald, Donya Land & Keith Ashbury of Fitzgerald and Jared Land & Ashley Wooten of Fitzgerald; eight great-grandchildren: Kelsy Land, Kaylee Land, Kolby Land, Isabella Land, Leeann Erskine, Morgan Erskine, Scotty Land and Cooper Land. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Land; two brothers: Earl Ray and Robert Ray and three sisters: Launa Hobby, Jessie Pitts and Oma Lee Woodard. The family would like to express their gratitude to Lisa Jones, Mrs. Land’s caregiver.
