Jason Earl “JJ” Grantham, 39, of Tifton passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Bobby Hires officiating. J. J. will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 9, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Derrick Dillard, Shane Gilbert, Jason Mercer, David Segui, Clay Childers and Derrick Ball will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 4, 1982, in Tifton, JJ was the son of Bill Grantham and Gaye Suggs Grantham of Tifton. Hs was employed with Greene Construction Company. JJ was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Rayford Theodore Suggs; and his paternal grandfather, Bobby Earl Grantham, Sr.
JJ was a devoted father and son. He enjoyed the beach, riding the jet-ski, mud-bogging, and building things. He spent his time working and playing outside with his son, Jaden. JJ was a very quiet person but had a sense of humor like no other and a heart of gold. He was a believer and tied his Bible leaves to various things in his room. It was a pleasure to know and to love him. JJ will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, JJ is survived by one son, Jaden Grantham of Tifton; one sister, Shauna Segui of Hazlehurst; his maternal grandmother, Anita Dees Suggs of Tifton; his paternal grandmother, Joan Young Grantham of Tifton; his aunts and uncles, Wendell Grantham, Bobby Grantham, Sammy and Gloria Dillard and Angie and Robert Gilbert; his nieces and nephews, Tatum Mercer, Grady Segui and Collins Segui; and numerous cousins.
