New Bedford – Michael A. Nunes, age 48, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Karen (Lewis) Nunes.
Michael was born in New Bedford and was the son of Manuel Nunes and Julieta M. (Tavares) Nunes. He had worked for the City of Fall River’s Department of Public Works over the years.
He was well loved by his family and his friends and loved Karaoke and playing golf. He was a very happy go lucky guy, who will be missed more than words can say.
Michael is survived by his wife, Karen Nunes; his parents, Manuel and Julieta Nunes; children, Lexandra Nunes and Dakota Whittington; nephew, Justin Nunes; niece, Katelyn Nunes; his aunt, Ana Ferreira; as well as several cousins.
His visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place on Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. with a service to take place at 11:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
