SERVICE UPDATE
WEBSTER – Gilbert L. “Gil” Jackson, 60, died Friday, December 3, 2021 at home after a short but courageous battle with leukemia.
He leaves his wife of 30 years, Gail H. (Hicks) Jackson; a son, Erik A. Jackson and his companion Cassandra Pelletier of Webster; a step-son, Matthew D. Bard and his wife Caitlin and 3 grandchildren, Liam, Aidan and Rory Bard, all of Wenham; a sister-in-law, Krissy Jackson of Palmer; and many supportive uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary in 2016 and by Matthew’s twin brother Michael. He also leaves 3 loving cats, Bowie, Tovi and Vito.
He was born on May 9, 1961 in Webster and raised in Dudley, the first child of Albert S. ”Big Al” Jackson, Sr. and Dorothy A. “Dot” (Brush) Jackson. He graduated from Shepherd Hill Regional High School in 1979 where he played saxophone in the band.
Gil was currently the manager of the seafood department at Price Chopper in Webster where he worked for more than 25 years.
He loved spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed long drives in his beloved Dodge Challenger with loud music playing. He was an avid fan of the Boston Celtics.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 7, in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a service at 2:00 PM in the funeral home. Reverend John R. White of the First Congregational Church in Dudley will officiate. Donations in his name may be made to the Community Cat Connection, 289 Thompson Road, Webster, MA 01570.
