Obituary


Jay Ronald Gegenheimer, 85, of Anderson died on December 4, 2021 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness.

He was born on August 15, 1936 in Portland, Indiana to Ray L. and Lucille (Robbins) Gegenheimer. He served in the US Air Force.

He worked production at Delco Remy for more than 28 years and retired in 1993. He was a police officer and worked for several different departments over the years. He managed the North 40 Park Campgrounds and Royal Oak Mobile Home Park. He was the commander for a year at the Korean War Veterans Association, member of the American Legion Post #127 and past president of Daleville Lion's Club and a member of Yorktown Lion's Club.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Blankenbeker) Gegenheimer of Anderson whom he married on July 31, 1966 in Hartford City, IN; 2 children, Tracey (Melissa) Gegenheimer of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Anissa Jo Gegenheimer of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Kali N. (Adam Ramsey) Gegenheimer; and two nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Alan Ray Gegenheimer.

There will be no visitation or services.
