William A. Rickett, 81, of Bishop Hill Road, Johnston, died Thursday at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Violet (Payne) Rickett. They had been married for 61 years.
Born in Portland, Maine, a son of the late Charles F. and Florence B. (Wallace) Rickett. He had lived in Johnston for 41 years. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
He had been a Die Castor with Metalart Buckle Company, Providence RI for many years before retiring.
He leaves his children, Debbie Pires of Providence, William A. Rickett, Jr. of Woonsocket, Cindy Rickett of Johnston, David Rickett of Johnston, Donald Rickett of North Providence and Rebecca Rickett of Johnston. He also leaves 33 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Victoria Cariglio and Brenda Rickett. He also leaves his long time friend Raymond Perry of Johnston.
His funeral will be held Tuesday December 7th at 12:30pm in the Chapel at Highland Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation will be Tuesday December 7th from 10am to 12noon in the Anderson-WInfield Home, Greenville.
