Bobby Gene Hobby, Sr., 78, of Alapaha passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Hobby at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at Enigma Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.
Born July 1, 1943, in Hahira, Mr. Hobby was the son of the late George Ben Hobby and Geneva Erskine Pope. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Carrie Dean Hobby. Before retiring, he was a truck driver for Dixon Farms in Enigma. He loved to fish and hunt and he was a member of Alapaha Church of God. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Hobby is survived by his wife, Lydia Graham Hobby of Alapaha; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mark and Maria Hobby of Hillsboro, Oregon and Bobby Gene Hobby, Jr. of Bremond, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and David Ruble of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Thames and Judy Fuller, both of Florida; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
