James P. Manning, 86, a 32 year resident of Marion, died Thursday, December 2nd of Alzheimer's disease.
Jim worked as a manufacturer's representative covering the New England states with his partner Sheila Mitchell, a long career that he much enjoyed. Until recently he was a tennis player and loved living in Marion. Jim always looked forward to family get-togethers and his tropical winter vacations. He was proud of his Needham roots and his time spent in the U.S. Army.
In addition to Sheila, he is survived by his children, Jamey Manning, Susan Smith, and Sally Langis and their spouses; two sisters, Donna Jovin and Helen Turner; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward C. And Helen M. (Furlong) Manning and his sisters, Anne Gallant and Mary Carreiro.
Private arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals.
