Obituary

CHICOPEE – Joseph J. Przybyla, Jr., 88, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born at home on Pulaski Street in Willimansett on October 19, 1933, a beloved son of the late Joseph and Stella (Nowak) Przybyla. He was raised in Chicopee, attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of Willimansett. He was an auto body technician at Dale Auto Body in the South End section of Springfield and retired in 1990. He was an avid Candlepin bowler in local leagues and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Every Tuesday was “Donut Tuesday” when Joe would host a get together for family members who lost a dear family member. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends, especially playing a good game of cards. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and soul mate, Patricia M. (Clark) Przybyla who was Called Home on September 10, 2016. They were married on February 2, 1957 at the former Saint Mary of the Assumption Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 59 years of happiness together. He leaves his four loving children, Joseph J. Przybyla, III and Tammy A. Cupillo, both of Willimansett, David M. Przybyla, Sr. and his wife, Kristen, of Chester and Shari A. Fay and her husband, Dean, of Hampden; his nine cherished grandchildren, Courtney Perez, Jonathan Starr, Sami-Jo English and her husband, Gregory, David M. Przybyla, Jr., Erik Przybyla, Owen Przybyla and his companion, Morgan, Cole Przybyla, Sean Fay and Daniel Fay; his three cherished great-grandsons, Jason Perez, Jr., Jameson Starr, and O’Mari English; his two dear nieces, Alice Przybyla and her partner, Stanley of Belchertown, and Connie Callahan; his many dear brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Przybyla, Nowak and Clark families. He will be sadly missed by his devoted canine companion, Jerry. In addition to his beloved parents and wife, Joe was also predeceased by his dear brother, Walter Przybyla and his wife, Doris. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee. MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Masks are recommended for his funeral services.
