Obituary

We are saddened to share Mildred, better known as Millie, Ward, Bellingham,  passed away on November 30th.

Millie was born September, 5, 1937 in Plymouth Mass, and raised in Watertown. It was in Watertown where she would meet her one true love, John J. Ward, JR, and  life really began at that point. They were married June 4, 1960 and have been inseparable ever since. Her family grew with birth of their two sons, John J. III and Stephen.

In 1967, the family moved to Bellingham to settle into the American Dream. Millie was active in Clara Macy Elemtary PTA, had a long tenure in Cub Scouts, friendly to all in the various neighborhoods of Bellingham in which she lived,  and a big part of several church groups before her health began to fail.  Millie was an awesome cook, rarely measuring anything, and no matter what it was, it tasted great, because of her "special ingredient': LOVE. The family, at her prompting always took in stray animals, and showed limitless hospitality to anyone showing up at the door. Everyone needs to know they are loved in the world.

Millie is survived by her husband  of 61 years, John; son John caregiver, son Stephen of Scranton PA, and adopted son, Robert Taylor of Norton. The Ward Family would to express our thanks to those who helped make Millie's day brighter, and looked after her with care: Rebecca Martin, Dr. Mary Medeiros, the staffs at UMass Medical Center/Memorial Hospital  and Cedarwood Gardens.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Saturday Dec. 11th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. at 2PM.

Her interment will be held privately.
