Manuel J. 'Manny' Sodre, 47 of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home. He was born on April 23, 1974 in Lowell and was a son of the late Jose Dos Santos Sodre and the late Maria L. (Melo) Sodre.
He was raised in Lowell, where he attended the area schools. More recently, Manny was a caretaker for a close friend and previously he was the General Facilities Manager of various Sunoco locations in Albany, NY. During his free time Manuel was a champion and award winning pool player. He also enjoyed playing card games with his family and friends. Manuel was an avid fan of the New York Giants football team. Above all, time spent with his family was Manny’s greatest treasure.
Manny is survived by his sister, Maria De Fatima Faria and her husband, Delio of Lowell; his nephew/godson, Daniel Faria, and his niece/goddaughter, Brenda Faria both of Lowell; as well as his grandnieces, Alexis who was like a goddaughter to him, his goddaughter Olivia, Charlotte, and his grandnephew Evan Faria all of Lowell. Manuel is also survived by his childhood friend,
Francisco "Frankie" Leandro and his family; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be
made to this go fund me account the family created to help with funeral expenses.
On Friday, December 3, 2021 all are welcome to attend his committal prayers and burial at 10am at St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
