Obituary

Claire M. Silk, a resident of Dorchester and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at her home in Dorchester, following a courageous 3 month battle with cancer. She was 63 years of age.

Claire was born in Somerville on June 17, 1958, a daughter of the late Margaret (Silk) Fitzpatrick of Co. Galway, Ireland. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated in the Boston Public School System and Girls Latin High School. Claire enjoyed working as a devoted counselor for North Suffolk Mental Health Homes in Winthrop. She loved spending time with her niece Kaileen whom she regarded as a daughter, reading, listening to music, and learning about history. She also took great comfort in going on walks with her dog Finbar.

Claire is the beloved daughter of the late Margaret (Silk) Fitzpatrick. She is the loving sister of Eileen Cotter and her husband Paul, James "Silky" Fitzpatrick and his wife Christine, Thomas Fitzpatrick, and the late Paul J. Silk. She is the devoted aunt of Kaileen Cotter, Michaella Fitzpatrick, Braden Fitzpatrick, and to her great-niece and nephew Maddison and Liam Burke.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Claire's Funeral on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 10 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Her burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. in the funeral home.
