Raymond L. Petit, 85, of Westport, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Anne's Hospital. He was the husband of M. Claudette (Vanasse) Petit, they shared 40 years of marriage.
Ray was born in Fall River, son of the late Albert and Laetitia (Vallee) Petit and had worked as a self-employed distributor for most of his life. Following retirement, he worked part time at Prima Care and was owner of Ray's Vinyl Repair. Ray was also a musician and entertained many years as a duo with his wife. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. He was a member of the Allendale Country Club for many years. Ray was very competitive when he played sports. He loved watching the Patriots, Red Sox, playing golf and tennis. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors along with his wife include his sons: Paul Petit and Robert Petit; his daughter: Renee Duncan (Jeff); step-children: Peter Levesque (Louise), Nadine Castro (Michael) and Michelle Levesque; sister: Henriette Roy; brother: Bernard Petit; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Dupont) Petit, step-father of the late Paul D. Levesque and David J. Levesque, and brother of the late Robert, Normand and Richard Petit.
Mass of Christian burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, December 6, 2021 at Our Lady of Grace Church at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Sunday, at the Potter Funeral Home from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
