James A. Smihula, 86, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, November 14, 2021 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Jean M. (Collins) Smihula.
Mr. Smihula was born in Inglewood, CA, son of the late Andrew A. and Gertrude E. (Bransovick) Smihula and had resided in Florida before to recently relocating to Westport. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and prior to retirement, he worked as a postal worker for the USPS.
Survivors along with his wife include his 2 step-sons: Albert Rodrigues of Westport and Donald Rodrigues and his wife Dawn of Westport; 6 sisters and 3 brothers; 2 grandsons: Brent and Brandon Smihula ; 2 step-granddaughters: Taylor Rodrigues and Elisha Rautenback; 2 step great grandchildren: Ryann and Easton Rautenback; along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, December 6, 2021 at RI Veterans Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822 at 1:00 P.M.
