Julieta (Andrade) DeFaria, 86, beloved wife of the late Joaquim DeFaria, formerly of Rockland and Mashpee, MA died Saturday, November 27th after a long illness.
She was born on April 7, 1935 in Brava, Cape Verde, daughter of the late Jose and Inez (Neves) Andrade
She was a longtime member of the Ideal Club, but what she enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. Shopping with her sisters was also a fun time for all. Traveling and entertaining was a favorite past time with her husband, along with spending time with their beloved dog Fluffy.
Loving sister of Maria Lopes of Kingston, Ulysses and Wilma Andrade of Rockland, and the late Dulcinea and her husband Joseph DeFaria. She was also predeceased by her siblings John Andrade of Rockland, Alfred Andrade of Boston, Jose Andrade of New Bedford, and John and Justa Silva of East Providence RI.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews who brought her tremendous joy.
Her funeral services will be held Thursday December 2 at 8:00 am from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 am at the Holy Family Church, Rockland. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday December 1 from 3:00-6:00 pm in the Chapel.
