Uldis J. Krivans age 88 of Brockton, passed peacefully Saturday Nov. 27, 2021 after a period of failing health with his dog, Laima, at his side.
He was born in Madona, Latvia, a son of the late Janis and Olga (Bleiva) Krivans. As a child in 1944, he fled war torn Latvia with his parents and brother, traveling to Denmark where his father passed away and on to Sweden before emigrating to Brockton with his family in 1956.
Uldis was a veteran of the US Army Airborne rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Discharged in 1962, he attended Northeastern University and then entered the construction industry. With his late brother Evalds, he was a very busy as a contractor building houses in the Brockton area.
In his free time, Uldis enjoyed deer hunting and being a Boy Scout leader. He was very proud of his Latvian heritage and enjoyed Latvian dancing and music.
Uldis was the husband of Signe Bulindza of Ogre, Latvia and uncle of Zigrida and Ernest Sabine of Arlington and great uncle of Andrew Sabine and his wife, Alida, of Brighton, MA and Ernest Sabine, Jr of Manhattan, NY.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday Dec. 2 from 9-10:30am followed by a funeral service in the funeral home. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
