Elaine V. (Keneklis) Kyriakakis, 84, of Tiverton, RI passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on November 24, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Manuel Kyriakakis, Chief Justice, MA Housing Court Dept. (retired), with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Born in Brockton, MA, Elaine was the daughter of the late Peter and Erikety (Righellis) Keneklis. She raised her family in Somerset, MA, was formerly employed as a teacher with the Fall River School System for many years and was the coordinator of the Volunteer Mentor Program until her retirement. She had a vibrant personality and an uncanny ability to make a connection with everyone she met. Elaine was an active member of her community, most recently in retirement at the Villages on Mount Hope Bay serving as water aerobics instructor and chairperson of the pool committee. She enjoyed golf, skiing, book club, playing bridge, mahjong, knitting, and above all, spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband Manuel, Elaine is survived by her son, Ted Kyriakakis and his partner Erin Sheehy of Newburyport, MA; daughter, Victoria Richardson and her husband Dirk of Amherst, NH; brother, Dr. Ted Keneklis of Sheboygan, WI; four grandchildren, Justin and his wife Sarah, Dylan and his wife Meg, Kyle and Erik; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 3rd from 5-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, MA. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 4th at 9 AM in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
