CHICOPEE – Sylvia R. (Caccarozzi) Macciomei, 86, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, November 26, 2021. She passed away surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Campbell, Ohio on March 4, 1935, a beloved daughter of the late Mariano and Emilia (Pierluca) Caccarozzi. Her greatest joy was taking care of people. She was a Registered Nurse and Night Supervisor at Holyoke Medical Center and was last employed for the Chicopee VNA. Sylvia was a devoted animal lover who also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and crafts. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence G. Macciomei and her daughter, Carolyn Olgard. She leaves her three daughters, Elaine Desmarais, Linda Macciomei, and Lorraine Beston and her husband, Bruce; her son-in-law, Brad Olgard; her 10 cherished grandchildren, Janna, Jessica, Rebecca, Melissa, Ami, Christopher, Michael, Stephen, Cory, and Raphaella; her many cherished great grandchildren; extended family members and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Mass at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, 800 Montgomery Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Please wear a mask for her services.
