John W. Andrade, Jr., 72 of Westport, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Newport, RI, son of the late John W. and Emilia (Antunes) Andrade, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement, he was a firefighter for the Town of Westport, working as a lieutenant from 1990-2021. Mr. Andrade was a boxing aficionado, comic collector, enjoyed going on cruises and spending time with his pet dog Stark, but most of all he loved attending any performance of his granddaughters. He was also an investor and a fan of FAN E2G SPORTS.COM.
Survivors include his son: John W. "Buddy" Andrade, III of Westport; his longtime daughter-in-law: Carolyn (Catulo) Andrade of New Bedford; 2 sisters: Sandra Roberts of NY and Marcia Stassi of NY; 2 granddaughters: Hadleigh and Braelyn; Buddy's 2 sisters: Erina Cordeiro of Rochester and Sarah Rounseville of Rochester; his former companion: Laura Ferreira of Wareham; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Gary Andrade.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, November 30, 2021 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M..

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
