Richard F. Maloney, age 82, of Norton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home with his beloved wife Maureen (Taraborelli) Maloney at his side on Thursday, November 25, 2021. Richard and Maureen recently celebrated twenty-five years of marriage in September.
Born in Boston, MA on August 23, 1939, he was a loving son of the late Francis and Helena (Young) Maloney.
Richard grew up in Needham and was a graduate of Needham High School. A former resident of Plainville, he had made his home in Norton for the past twenty-four years and prior to retiring had worked for thirty years in the shipping and receiving department and General Motors in Westwood.
Richard was a talented cook and along with his wife Maureen, enjoyed dining out and traveling throughout New England. He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins and will always be remembered for the special place he held sacred in his heart for animals, especially his cat Willow.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Stacey Gillis of Andover and Diana Maloney of South Hadley. He was the dear brother of Warren Maloney and his wife Emma of Norton. He was the special brother-in-law of Jean Marandola and her husband David of Cranston, RI and Janis Taraborelli of Cranston, RI. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 2 nieces.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, December 2nd from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
At the conclusion of visitation on Thursday, a service in celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
