Obituary

Simpson, Lawrence J. Age 68 of Dedham passed away on November 19th, 2021. Beloved husband of 34 years of the late Maureen A. (Murray) Simpson. Devoted father of Lawrence J. Simpson Jr. of Dedham. Brother of Donald L. Simpson and his late wife Susan of Dedham. Brother of Marie A. (Simpson) Meehan and her husband Robert of Stoneham. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Lawrence or as many knew him Lawrie, though not by choice but due to his maternal grandfather already being known as Larry. He was born in Boston, MA and at an early age moved to Dedham, MA. Lawrie quickly developed a tight knit group of friends in Dedham who became known as the Manor Boys and they have continued a lifelong unbreakable friendship. In his 20’s he was always the life of the party, though that was much to his parents dismay as the party’s usually took place in their basement. Lawrie loved riding motorcycles until he broke each of his legs at different times while riding, I suppose it was one of those fool me twice moments. In his 30’s he met the love of his life Maureen, he was inspired by her never take no for an answer attitude despite suffering from post polio or it could have been just that she too liked to party. As he grew older he picked up gardening as a hobby, he lovingly grew tomatoes for his wife as it reminded her of her italian heritage and trips to Italy when she was younger. Above all, Lawrence will be remembered for his heart that knew no bounds, to his wife, to his family, to his friends and to anyone in need that asked for his help and may that live on in all of us.
