Obituary

Lifelong Truro resident Linnell [Morris] Nickerson died peacefully in her home Saturday, November 6th, after a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. She was 75.

Born and raised in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Viola and Robert Morris. Over the years, she worked many jobs but her favorite and last position was doing direct patient care with the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod. She took great pleasure working with and helping her patients.

Linnell had many talents and was a great crafts person. She loved to Knit, Crochet, Quilt, Rug Hook, Sew and all other varieties of crafting, especially making sweaters and baby things for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Linnell enjoyed baking and loved trying new recipes. Upon discovering the internet, she followed the blogs about people on farms and their lives, finding it interesting how people did the same things differently. She’d do puzzles in the afternoon and then share her lunch with her grand dog.

She was very family oriented and loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dean Nickerson, Rebecca Nickerson and Lindsay Nickerson all of Truro, as well as stepchildren Karen Clarkson, Christopher Nickerson and Richard Nickerson. She also leaves two sisters, Rebecca Whiting of Massachusetts and Joye Daley of Connecticut. She leaves her grandchildren, great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Darren Nickerson.

At Linnell’s request, there will be no services. A gathering to honor her life will be held at a day and time to be announced at a later date.
