Cecil Travis Rigdon, 93, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Friday, November 26, 2021, at Frank Cemetery, in Irwin County, Georgia, with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating.
Mr. Rigdon was born August 4, 1928, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late James Elmer & Lula Belle Williams Rigdon. He attended high school in Ben Hill County, Georgia and later served in the United States Navy. Mr. Rigdon worked for the Railroad, then became an engineer for the telecommunications industry. He was an active member of the Frank Primitive Baptist Church which he cherished dearly.
He is survived by his daughters: Susan McMath of Palmetto, Florida and Patricia & Robert Blattman of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren: Neeli & Josh Renda of Parrish, Florida, Dayna & Todd Wynstra of Savannah and Brandon & Ronnie Blattman of Orlando, Florida; great-grandchildren: Alex Renda, Ava Renda, Alyse Renda, Logan Wynstra, Caitlin Wynstra and Brady Wynstra; and two nephews: James Rigdon and Michael Rigdon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Nelle Freeman Rigdon; a sister, Grace Eltheda Roberts; two brothers: James Rigdon and Bruce Rigdon and a son-in-law, Eugene McMath.
