Rita T. (Frenette) Andrews, 93, of New Bedford passed away Saturday November 20, 2021 at Sacred Heart Home after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Edwin L. Andrews, Jr.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Emile E. and Noemi (Vaillancourt) Frenette, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.
Mrs. Andrews was formerly employed as a licensed practical nurse at Sacred Heart Home until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Kevin F. Andrews and his companion Joyce Varao; her brother, Emile R. Frenette; three grandsons, Patrick, Jonathan, and Nicholas Andrews; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Alexis; and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Deborah J. Houle, her son-in-law, Donald L. Houle, and her sister, Claire Frenette.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday November 29, 2021 at 11 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visitation will be on Monday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, prior to the Mass.
