Obituary

Maria (Vardaro) Carpinito of Medford, passed away on November 20, 2021. She was 88 years old.

Maria came to this country when she was 27 years old in 1960. She met her husband 2 years later and they were married shortly after meeting. Since Giovanni was not a citizen at the time, he had to leave the US and was not able to return for 5 years. Being the tough resilient woman she was, she worked as a curtain seamstress and set up an apartment for them while he was away. They would call that apartment their home for the next 14 years. She had 3 children whom she adored. She made sure they had a great home and was always taken care of. Her biggest goal was to make sure her children went to college and had a better life than she did. Maria was also an incredible nonni. All of her grandchildren loved her and of course her cooking, especially her pastina and her famous meatballs. She never refused to babysit or help whenever it was needed even if it meant sacrificing her own needs. Her greatest joy came from having her family together and that is how she left this earth. She was surrounded by the people and the love she fostered till the end. We miss you.

Maria was the beloved wife of 59 years to Giovanni Carpinito. She was the loving mother of Rosamaria Luscinski and her husband John of Wakefield, Cenzina Guerriero and her husband Richard of Wakefield, and John Carpinito and his fiancé Erin Collins of Medford. Maria was the dear sister of Serafina, Antonio and John Vardaro, Joanne Dellaporta, Joseph Vardaro and the late Francesco Vardaro, Francesca LaVita, Gennaro Vardaro and Carmella Gregorio. She was the cherished grandmother of Nicholas Carpinito, Theodore Luscinski, Gabriella Guerriero, Mia and Myles Carpinito. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
