Robert J. Froio, Sr., age 84, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, in Boston. He was the husband of the late Carole A. (Desmond) Froio.
Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Anthony and Irene (Fabroski) Froio. He graduated from Brockton High School and served proudly in the United States Army.
Bob was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a hard worker who worked for many years as a manager in retail. He also owned and managed his own business – Bob and Carole’s East Superette. Bob also worked as an automotive mechanic for many years but was a “jack of all trades” and could fix anything with a motor on it. He was a very strong willed and opinionated person who cared deeply about his family. A staunch Trump supporter, he enjoyed antiquing and spending time with his closest friends Jeffrey and Dougie fixing cars and watching Turner Classic movies.
He leaves his children, Donna A. Child, Robert Froio, and his wife, Susan, Laurie Healy, and her husband, Dan, all of Brockton, and Danny Froio, and his wife Chastity, of Lakeville; a sister, Kathleen Froio, of Florida; eleven grandchildren, Curtis Child, Shane Child, Crisha Froio, Nicole Froio, Michael Froio, Michelle Froio, Danielle Healy, Patrick Healy, Matthew Healy, Dominic Froio, Brandon Froio, and Logan Froio; and eight great grandchildren, Lavana Froio, Natalie and William Child, Noah, Ethan, and Chloe Silva, Jonathan Leach and Beverly and Estelle Hook. Robert was also the brother of the late June Poirier and Anthony Froio. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Robert’s visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 8:30 am to 10:00 am, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am, in Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton. Interment with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
