Gelson Veiga Lopes (27) of Brockton died tragically in an automobile accident on November 14th in the city.
He was born in Mosteiros, Fogo, Cabo Verde son of Maria (Da Veiga) Lopes. Gelson was an independent contractor in the construction field. He attended Brockton High School and enjoyed listening to music and playing soccer.
In addition to his mother Maria he is survived by 3 brothers, Gil, Amadeu and Zito Fernandes all of Brockton, 4 sister, Maria Fernandes of Taunton, Helga Fernandes, Sonia Lopes and Selsa Lopes all of Brockton, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Tuesday November 23rd from 5-8 pm. Services in the Funeral Home Wednesday November 24th at 10 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery 88 N Pearl Street Brockton. Viewing 9 am prior to services.
