Obituary




Carmine R. Melchiono passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family on November 13th. He was 97. Born in Boston’s North End and raised in Revere, he was the son of the late Carmen and Edith (Brogna) Melchiono. A veteran of the US Army during World War II, Carmine lived much of his life in Medford. A hardworking man, he enjoyed a long career as a salesman in the retail jewelry field. Carmine was devoted to his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed travelling and occasional visits to the casino. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The beloved husband of the late Gloria (Sapochetti) Melchiono, Carmine was a devoted father to Philip C. Marino and his wife Sandra of Derry, NH. He was a loving grandfather to four grandchildren and the late Pamela Marino and loving great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren. Carmine was the dear brother of Adlaide “Ardie” Vara, Verna David and the late Joseph Melchiono.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 27th at 11 AM in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford. Burial with military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
