Salvatore A. Ferro, Jr., of Somerville passed away on November 18, 2021. He was 79 years old. Sal was the beloved husband of Claudia N. (Ficarra) Ferro. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Salvatore A. and Josephine (Grassia) Ferro Sr.
Salvatore graduated from Somerville High School, Class of 1960 and attended classes at Saunders Electronics College. Prior to his retirement, Salvatore was the proprietor of Ferro Printing Company in Somerville. He was a member of Project Outlook with his wife Claudia in Somerville and was a member the Somerville Chamber of Commerce.
Salvatore was the devoted father of Paul M. Ferro of Chelsea, Martin A. Ferro and his wife Michelle A. of West Peabody, Salvatore A. Ferro III, Gina Ferro-Pino and Michelle Ferro, all of Somerville. He was adored grandfather of Paul Jr., Michael and Anthony Ferro, Nicole and Chelsy Ferro, Jimmy, Salvy IV, Christina and Nicholas Ferro, Jimmy, Arianna, Samantha, Christopher and Joshua Pino, Peter Jr., Makayla, Daniel and Delilah Lancaster and the loving great-grandfather of Michael Jr., Briella, Angelo, and Gianna. Salvatore was the dear bother of the late Susan Souza, cherished uncle of Laura and Brian and brother-in-law of Adrienne Ficarra of Somerville.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, on Wednesday, November 24, at 10:30AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary the Annunciation Church 4 Herbert St. Melrose, at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are cordially invited. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-8PM. Services will conclude with interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
