ALTON----John W. Smith, 84, of Linwood Drive, died on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Concord Hospital-Laconia.
John was born on March 3, 1937 in Hanover, NH, the son to the late Roland and Bernadine (Tobin) Smith.
John was the co-owner and operator of BJT Truck Repair in Merrimack.
He had a strong passion for riding motorcycles and enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, and 4 wheeling.
He was a devoted father and loving husband. He was a friend who was always willing to help if you needed him.
John is survived by his loving wife, Sue Anne (Locke) Smith; three wonderful children from his first marriage with Jeanne LaBounty/Smith, George S. Smith and his wife, Jill, Kelley Ledoux and her husband, Stephen, and Shane M. Smith and his companion, Karen Penna; three step-children, James Howe and his wife, Dawn, Kenneth Howe Jr., and his wife, Meghan, and Derek Howe and his wife, Kirsten; a sister, Shirley Chamberlain; five grandchildren, Travis Gilcreast, Jennifer Smith, Jessica Smith, Mackenzie Smith, and Natalie Smith; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
