Peggy Anne Gallion Duffey, age 65, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She was born November 7, 1956 in South Hill, Virginia. She was the daughter of Martha Anne Leach and Stephen Leach.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her biological dad, Richard Gallion; her mother, Martha Anne Crowe Leach; and grandson, Jay Duffey.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Bobby L. Duffey; daughter, Stephanie Tharpe Hill (Chris); her dad, Stephen Leach; two step-sons, Jonathan Duffey (Nancy) and Steven Duffey (Victoria); and her grandchildren, Madison Duffey, Jacob Duffey, Conner Duffey, Grayson Duffey, and Jasmine Duffey. She is also survived by her brother, Steve “Stevie” Gallion; sister, Amy Gupton (Ray); nephews, Seth Gupton (Sarah) and Avery Gupton; great-nephew, Grant Gupton; great-niece, Kylie Gupton; and three special friends, Carrilee Spence, Carol Hartsoe, and Wanda Jones.
She was a Pharmacy Technician for Richard’s Pharmacy in Chase City. Peggy was a long-time member of Concord Baptist Church where she served as a member of the choir. She loved her community and was very involved with the Party at the Pavilion events in Chase City. She was also passionate about helping others through the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association. Peggy was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Concord Baptist Church, 11650 Highway 47, Chase City, Virginia 23924. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive family and friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
From Saturday (Nov.20) until the day of the service, family and friends are welcome at the home of Chris and Stephanie Hill.
