Beverly J. (Dunton) Blanchard, age 84, of Norton, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her adoring family on Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph T. Blanchard, Sr., to whom she was wed for forty years at the time of his death on January 8, 1995.
Born in Norfolk, MA on May 29, 1937, she was a loving daughter of the late Ernest, Sr. and Sadie M. (Jordan) Dunton.
Beverly grew up and was educated in Norfolk., She had made her home in Norton for the past fifty-six years and prior to retiring in 2002, had been employed as a building service worker at Wheaton College for twenty-three years.
Beverly’s greatest gift in life was her treasured family, of which her love for them was truly unconditional. She was a lifetime member of Post 1972 Amvets Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed the simple pleasures of relaxing at home and watching television. Beverly will always be remembered for the special place in her heart for animals and will be missed ever-so-much by all who knew and loved her.
She was the devoted mother of Joseph T. Blanchard, Jr. of Attleboro, Debra J. MacDonald of North Attleboro, Jay T. Blanchard and his wife Farrar of Rehoboth, Robert E. Blanchard and his wife Julie of Norton and the late Joanne Riely. She was the dear sister of Barbara Blanchard of Taunton and the late Ernest “John” Dunton, Jr., Evelyn White, Doris Brothers, Everett Dunton, Helen Dunton and Mary Bowley. She is also survived by her cherished 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, November 27th from 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp Street (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton.
Her funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours on Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Timothy Plain Cemetery in Norton.
In lieu of flowers, Beverly’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Nine Lives of Norton Feline Rescue Shelter, P.O. Box 548, Norton, MA 02766.
