Gloria "Nicki" Myers, 63, of Tifton, died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Phoebe-Putney Hospital in Albany. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Our Divine Saviour Catholic Church. Deacon Richard Betterman and Father Jack Durkin of Atlanta will officiate. A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at Bowen-Donaldson. All are welcome to attend the memorial service, but the family will have a private family gathering at the residence after the service.
Mrs. Myers was born on August 11, 1942 in Fort Riley, Kansas and was the daughter of Fred Long and Doris Detheridge Long, both deceased. She graduated from Jenkins High School in Savannah in 1960 and retired last year after approximately 40 years as an LPN, including working at Affinity Health Group.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald E. Myers of Tifton; a daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Fleming Free of Atlanta; a brother, George Haslam of Beaufort, South Carolina; a sister, Cindy Haslam of Woodlands, Texas; and a granddaughter, Sara Free of Atlanta.
