Obituary


Joseph Raymond Green died peacefully with his family aside, at the age of 82 in Brockton Massachusetts on Sunday November 14 2021.

Joe was born in Dixon Illinois in 1938. His parents were James Jasper and Opal Thelma Green and grew up on a farm in Illinois with 7 brothers. He entered the army at the age of 17 and served a 1 year tour in the Vietnam war. After serving 21 years for the Army, he retired as a E-7 Supply Sergeant at Fort Devens , MA. Joe continued to serve the federal government for another 20 years with his employment at the Marshfield Post office and retired in 1999.

Survived by his wife Edna Louise Mitchell Green, having 58 years of marriage. His children (daughter) Daniela F. Fulton (Dani) of Brockton, Mass, Hermann Markus Green (Mark) of Leonardtown, MD and Mitchell JH Green (Mitch) of Brockton, Mass. Granddaughter Jennifer Lee Green and great-granddaughters Quorra Elaine and Skylinn Kay Estioko of Atkinson NC.

Joseph Green was a family oriented man. He was a good husband, good father and a very hard worker. Joe loved his coffee and conversation. Joe was kind in heart and would lend a helping hand to anyone. He loved life and being outdoors and rarely would sit still. Joe will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held at the National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts on December 3 at 11:15AM.

A Celebration of Life will be held at
The First Congregational Church

Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 AM
Collation will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.
