Shirley M. O’Brien (Shepherd), age 93, of Weymouth passed away Sunday, November 14, 2021. Shirley is a lifelong Weymouth resident who has countless memories of life in S. Weymouth including working at the Cameo Theater and assisting her family running Shepherd Funeral Home. Shirley also worked at East Weymouth Savings Bank, and all its transition banks, from 1962-84.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband George O’Brien. She is survived by her children David O’Brien and his wife Linda of CO, Betsy Gilbert and her husband Arthur of Weymouth, and Steven O’Brien of Bridgewater, her grandchildren Kristina, Sean, Patrick, Lauren, and Allyson, and her 10 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Shirley on Monday, November 22, 2021 from 9-11am in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visiting hours at 11am in the funeral home followed by a burial ceremony at 1:30pm at Bourne National Cemetery.
