Obituary

WORCESTER___Lucjan Janeczak, 80, of Worcester, died Sunday, April 16th , in his home.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Stanislawa (Zielinska) Janeczak, two sons, Zdzislaw J. Janeczak and his wife Elizabeth of Sutton and Edward S. Janeczak and his wife Teresa of Andover; two brothers, Stefan and Misczyslaw Janeczak both of Poland; a sister, Helena of France and a half sister, Gertrude Sawicka of Poland; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Janina of Germany, a half sister, Irena Sawicka of Poland, and a grandson, Derek Janeczak of Sutton. He was born in Germany, son of Antoni and Katarzyna (Golden) Janeczak and has lived in Worcester since 1963.

Mr. Janeczak was educated in Poland and later worked many years as a machine operator for Standard Foundry Company in Worcester before retiring in 1991. He was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish. He enjoyed being in his garden, growing flowers and vegetables and riding in his car.

The funeral will held on Wednesday April 19th, from HENRY - DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday April 18th, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Czestochowa Memorial Fund, 34 Ward St., Worcester, MA 01610.
