Carrie “Olline” Rutland Young, 96, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her home. Her graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Oaky Grove Church Cemetery in Berrien County with her grandson, Stacy Aultman, officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Stacy Aultman, Robert Aultman, Sam Aultman, John Aultman, Joey Young and Royce Graves will serve as pallbearers.
Born June 19, 1925, in Berrien County, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late William Hilsman “Doc” Rutland, Sr. and Kathleen Slade Rutland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J. P. Young; two brothers, William Hilsman “W. H.” Rutland, Jr. and Ernest Rutland; and one sister, Doris Carpenter. She was the co-owner of J. P. Young’s Barbecue. She also worked previously at Armour’s Meat Packing, Magnolia Plantation, Lankford Manor, Kulbersh’s Department Store and the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village.
Mrs. Young is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles V. and Jane Young and Ronnie J. and Lynn Young, all of Tifton; two daughters, Gwen Aultman of Tifton and Glenda Hiers of Simpsonville, South Carolina; one sister, Carolyn Graves of Gainesville, Florida; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy and Jerri Kaye Aultman, Robert and Manny Martinez, Candy and Tony Parris, Shannon and Wendy Bell, Eric and Laura Bell, Joey and Angie Young, Michael Young, Carla Young and Julie and Mark Bennett; fifteen great-grandchildren and their spouses, Sam Aultman, John Aultman, Kaycee Aultman, Kayla and Justin Adamson, Devin Parris, Brandon Parris, Jeremy Bell, Gabriel Bell, Catherine Bell, Brittany Paige and Cameron Wilson, Andrea Young, Samuel Young, Evan and Kayleigh Gibbs, Seth Bennett and Millianna Bennett; and two great-great grandchildren.
