Obituary

CHICOPEE – Cynthia A. “Cindy” (Bruce) LaJeunesse, 78, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Home on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life unexpectedly in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Ware on August 1, 1943, a beloved daughter of the late Raymond L. and Violet I. (Hall) Bruce. In her younger years, she lived in Ware and Belchertown before moving to Chicopee where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a Courier at the former Riverbend Medical Center, now Trinity Health, in Chicopee. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading and challenging herself with word games and crossword puzzles. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. Cindy was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Leo A. LaJeunesse who was Called Home on December 14, 2020. They were married on August 19, 1960 in Springfield and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. She leaves her three loving children, Ronald G. “Ron” LaJeunesse and his wife, Deborah, of Polk, PA, Richard J. “Rick” LaJeunesse and Roxanne Lengieza and her husband, Mark, all of Chicopee; her seven cherished grandchildren; her eight cherished great grandchildren; her two dear sisters in law of the LaJeunesse family, Doris Beaulieu and her husband, Malcolm, of Manchester, NH and Jeanne Beaulieu and her husband, Michael, of New Boston, NH; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her cherished grandchildren, Justin J. LaJeunesse who was Called Home on December 14, 2009 and Edward R. “Eddie” Lengieza who was Called Home on December 11, 2017; her cherished great-granddaughter, Sophia Marie Mastej who was Called Home on June 17, 2008; her dear brother, Ralph Bruce who was Called Home on June 12, 2021; her dear brother in law, Girard “Red” LaJeunesse; and her two dear sisters in law, Anita Gauthier and Janet Bessonette and her husband, Ernest. Her family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. which will be followed by a Prayer Service at 1 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Masks are recommended for her services.
