Obituary

Raymond L. “Ray” Cain Sr., 91, of Anderson, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.

He was born on April 1, 1930 in Ft. Wayne, the son of James W. Cain Sr. and Ruth M. (Heck) Cain. Ray served in the US Army and was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University and later received a masters degree from Indiana University.
Ray began a career in ministry and later became a psychiatric social worker. He enjoyed restoring old cars, woodworking, and welding. He even had a pilots license at one time. He was a member of Anderson First Nazarene Church.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Agnes ( Kelly) Cain; three children; Randy (Warrenetta) Cain of Lanett, Alabama, Diana (Steve) Glass of Gaston, Danita (Gary) Brick of Jasper; five grandchildren; Jan, Jeff, Andy, Caitlyn, Raymond III; nine great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Cain Jr.; a granddaughter, Julie Dalrymple; great-grandson, Jacob Ruddick; a sister and four brothers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 4-7 PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service and also one hour prior to the funeral on Friday.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 12 Noon with Pastor Doug Hinton officiating. Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
