Obituary

Arthur M. Cardoza passed away surrounded by the love and prayers of his family at Landmark at Oceanview in Beverly. He was 93. Born and raised in East Boston he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Helen A. (Webb) Cardoza. Arthur worked throughout his life as a carpenter. He was adept at building nearly anything and was capable in fine finish work. Possessed of a strong work ethic, he worked hard to provide for his family. In the final years of his career he worked as a staff carpenter with the former Shawmut Bank in Boston. Proud of living in East Boston for virtually all of his life, he lived the past year and a half in Beverly. A devout man, Arthur was devoted to his family. He enjoyed going to dances with his is wife of 62 years, as well as bringing his family on vacations and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The beloved husband of the late Catherine F. “Kay” (Aiken) Cardoza who passed away in 2012, Arthur was a devoted father to Kathryn Keaveney and her husband Thomas of Brookline, Judith A. Jaruse of Hanover, Patrice Cardoza of Durham, NH, Arthur E. Cardoza and his wife MaryAnn of Wakefield, the Rev’d Edward M. Cardoza and his husband Albert Cummings of Foxborough. Arthur was a loving grandfather to Coleen, Katelyn, Kerry, Megan, Michelle, Jennifer, Christina, Robert, Julianna and a loving great-grandfather to Jacob, Ryan, Mackenzie, Jack, Anne, William, and Robert “RJ”. Arthur was a dear brother to Rosalie Cioffi, Francis Cardoza, the late Fred Cardoza, Helen Kenney and Richard Cardoza.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Arthur’s funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Thursday November 18th at 10 AM followed by a Requiem Mass celebrated in St Paul's Episcopal Church, 26 Washington St., Malden, at 11 AM.
Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Relatives and friends are also kindly invited to visit with the family on Wednesday 4 - 8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arthur's name to EDOM, St. Luke's and St. Margaret's Church, 5 St. Luke's Rd., Allston, MA 02134.
