Obituary

Elsie V. (Dadaian) Minassian
of Bedford, MA
August 11, 1929 to November 11, 2021

Beloved wife of the late Samuel O. Minassian. Devoted mother of Catherine, Diana & Jerry Stulc, David, Richard & Tricia Minassian, and the late Samuel A. Minassian. Loving grandmother of Alexan and Evan Stulc, Micaela, Jacob and Jarod Minassian. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Elsie was born and grew up in Davenport, IA, the daughter of Paul and Virginia (Sarkisian) Dadaian, survivors of the Armenian Genocide. She was the youngest of five children: the late Koren Dadaian & his wife Queenie, the late Sam Dadaian & his wife Geraldine, the late Rose Bejoian & her husband Casey, and the late Tony Dadaian & his wife Armen of California. She was the sister-in-law of the late Alma, Mary and Rose Minassian, and Florence Brown.

After WWII Elsie moved to Washington, DC to work in the Navy Department. Attending Armenian social events in Washington, she met Sam Minassian, a Cambridge, MA native also working in the area. They were married on January 1, 1950 in Boston. Elsie & Sam spent 11 years raising a family in Baltimore, with annual trips to Boston for holidays and summers, before moving to Bedford, MA. Family was important to Elsie and she was known for having regular ‘cousins cookouts’ in the backyard in Bedford, and having Sunday afternoon and holiday dinners with family.
