Obituary



Gerard J. Casey, Jr. ”Jerry” passed away peacefully at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center of Roslindale. He was 79. Raised in Winthrop and East Boston, he was the son of the late Gerard and Martha (Gleason) Casey. Jerry served in the United States Army in the period before the Vietnam War and after his honorable discharge he worked as a steel forger. He later worked for many years as a bar tender at local hotels including the Marriott Long Warf, the Logan Airport Hilton and at the terminals of Logan Airport. He was a devoted husband, brother and friend.

He is survived by his beloved wife Carol (Bragg) Casey of Medford. Jerry also leaves his sisters Jackie Dorato, Eleanor Casey, Helen Penczek and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Patricia Mesina.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford on Thursday, November 18th from 4 – 8 PM. The funeral procession will gather on Friday, November 19th at 10:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 670 Washington Ave., Revere, at 12 noon. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jerry’s memory to the Hebrew Rehabilitation Hospital, Development Office, 1200 Centre St., Boston, MA 02131 or to the Prisoners Legal Services, Development Office, 50 Federal St., 4th floor, Boston, MA 02110.
