Lucille Anne Therese (Couet) Pepin, age 95 passed away at home on November 14, 2021, surrounded by her devoted family in prayer. She was predeceased by her loving husband Normand L. Pepin of 66 years. They were best friends and high school sweethearts and celebrated their 40th and 50th anniversaries with renewal of their vows at OLOF with all their children and grandchildren.
Lucille was born in New Bedford to Oliva and Antoinette (Emond) Couet. She graduated from St. Anne's Grammar School and Holy Family High School. Lucille worked in the office at Hathaway Manufacturing Company until she started her family. She was also a Tupperware dealer for 36 years.
Lucille was an active member of Our Lady of Fatima Church as a prayer minister, Eucharistic minister, Charter Member of OLOF Ladies Guild and Chaplet of the Divine Mercy also, a member of St. Anne's Society and a recipient of the Marian Medal. She was dedicated to the Lord in her daily life, you could always find her with a rosary in her hand.
In their later years, Lucille and Normand spent many happy hours boating to Cuttyhunk and the islands and travelling with their family and friends in their camper. She was especially involved with the preservation of Sassaquin pond which was near and dear to her heart.
Lucille leaves seven children, Deacon David B. Pepin and his wife, Joan; Mark and his wife, Anne; Robert, and his wife Christine all of Rochester, MA. She was also the sister-in-law of the late Doris and Gelose Brault.
Lucille felt strongly about the power of prayer and left that legacy to her children and grandchildren. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mom was the heart and strength in our family and religious life. In her last hours as she was holding her great-grandchildren's hands she said, “I love these little hands.”
We would like to thank Community Nurse Home Care of Fairhaven and all of her caregivers for their dedication and kindness to our Mom.
Her public Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 18th at 10 AM in St. Francis Xavier Church in Acushnet. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be private. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
