Kathleen ‘Kathy’ Gonsalves of Truro passed away peacefully at home, on Thursday November 11th, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hyannis, she was the daughter of the late Jean G. and John V. Perry of Truro. She was a Provincetown High School graduate.
Kathy was well known for her cooking and baking skills. That passion lead to many years working at The Donut Shop, Michael Shay’s Restaurant, the Village Café and St. Peters Church, cooking for the priests. She also helped with the Kitchen Angels at St. Peters.
If you stopped by her house to say hello, you never left hungry or without a plate of food. Back in the day you could find her driving The Town Loop. She loved dancing and always had her dancing scarf. At Christmas time she would make rounds with her husband ‘Moe’, delivering home-made treats to family and friends. Kathy was always the life of the party and to know her really was to love her!
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Maurice Gonsalves of Truro, her daughter Lisa Roach of Truro, sister Jacquelyne Mastrianna of Brewster, and her two grandchildren Alan Roach of Truro and Courtney Roach of Boston and, her favorite of all, great granddaughter Adelinegrace Roach of Boston. She is also survived by nephew Bryan Williams and great nephew Alex Williams, both of South Dennis, her adopted daughter Sheva Russell-Browne and adopted granddaughter Kaitlyn Russell, as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by a nephew Eric Williams of Truro and many aunts and uncles.
At Kathy’s request, there will be no services.
If desired, donations in Kathy’s name may be made to Truro Rescue Squad, PO Box 2013, Truro, MA 02666.
