Nicholas Simon “Nick” Green, 64, of Manchester, NH, died Friday, November 12, 2021 at Elliot Hospital of Manchester after a seven-year battle with cancer. Nick was born June 14, 1957, in Wembley, England. He moved to the U.S. in 1968, and resided in Michigan, New Jersey and New York prior to relocating to New Hampshire in 1995.
Nick worked as a software engineer. He was devoted to the game of “football”, particularly the English Premier League - glory, glory Man United! Nick was passionate about youth soccer, serving as a referee, coach, and league volunteer. Beyond soccer, his hobbies included taking long bicycle rides, building Lego kits, and entertaining strangers with his three favorite dad jokes. As family was his top priority, he was happiest exploring new places with his wife and children, including recent trips to Alaska, Iceland, and many National Parks.
Members of the family include his wife of 31 years, Sally (Chiasson) Green, his son Alex Green and daughter Michelle Green, his mother Stella Green, his two brothers, Christopher and Geoffrey Green and their families, as well as hundreds of Chiassons. Nick was predeceased by his father Robert Green.
After cremation, a memorial reception will be held Saturday November 20, 2021 from 10am to 12pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road Londonderry. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 1pm in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. Mask usage is optional. The family requests that flowers not be sent. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
