Obituary

Charles C. Pratt, Jr., 87, of Little Compton, RI (formerly of Rockland, Massachusetts) peacefully passed away on Monday November 8th. He was the husband of Marcia L. (Almy) Pratt for over 65 years.

Born in Brighton, MA, son of the late Charles C. Pratt, Sr. and Audrey (Hussey) Pratt, he graduated high school in 1952. In January 1954, he enlisted in the Navy and served on the aircraft carrier USS Antietam. He was discharged in November 1957 and completed his electrical apprenticeship. He furthered his trade to become a journeyman and then a master electrician.

After several years working for Halliday Lithograph, in 1966 he started his own business retiring in 1996. He was also the wire inspector for the Town of Rockland. He was active in the Jaycees, played tennis, golf, and bowling. His love for singing was on full display as a member of a local group named “The People Next Door”. He and Marcia traveled to Europe as well as many places within the US.

He is survived by Marcia; sister Larraine Martlock; children: Stephen, Robert, Dennis, Laurie (Pratt) Doherty and their spouses; 6 grandsons and 2 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his sister Norma Macri.

Visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Potter Funeral Home from 1-3 P.M.

At the family's request, masks are appreciated for those that are vaccinated and required for those that are unvaccinated.

A celebration of life and interment will be held at a later date.
