Judith “Judy” Newton of Sandown, NH passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 9, 2021. She was 81 years old. Judy was a lifelong resident of Sandown and was born July 1, 1940 to the late Doris (French) and Ralph Follansbee of Sandown. She graduated from Sanborn Seminary and worked as a nurse’s aide at Rockingham County Nursing Home for 21 years. She also volunteered with the Sandown PTG; and was a Cub Scout den leader and a Girl Scout/Brownie leader as well. Judy loved all things Disney but her greatest love was her family. Her capacity for love was boundless and once you met Judy you were automatically a part of her family.
She is predeceased by her husband George (Bill) Newton, her twin Joan Fraser, her sister Stasia Meuse, her grandson Jeffrey K Newton, and granddaughter Danielle Janco.
She leaves behind her sisters Norma Hutchinson of Canterbury, NH and Nancy Johanson of Glastonbury, CT. She is survived by her son Jeffrey E. Newton and his wife Mirela of Lafayette Brazil, her daughters; Tammy L. Newton and her husband Scott Gifford of Salem, NH; Rebecca Janco and her husband Gary, Amy Newton and her husband Jeff Farrell all of Sandown. Grandchildren; Jillian Salafia and her husband Vincent, Fawn Sarbanis and her husband Adam, Gary Janco, Althea Dubravsky and her husband Jared, Amanda Hayes and her husband Kyle, Kimberly Newton and her fiancé Conor Shipmate, Alex Pirez and Heidi Farrell. Great-Grandchildren; Makayla Sarbanis; Alexa, Ashlee, Brooke and Vincent Salafia; Charlotte and Lorelai Dubravsky; Anna, Tobias, Peter, Taliah, Margalit, Benedict and Alexander Hayes; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 14th from 10:00am – 12:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A graveside service will follow in the Center Cemetery in Sandown. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations in Judy’s memory to either the JDRF or The Jimmy Fund.
