Suzanne M. Hopps, 63, of Halifax, Massachusetts died unexpectedly on November 7.
She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1958, the daughter of Sally (Doyle) Burke and the late Roland Fontaine.
She grew up in Ocean Bluff and spent much of her childhood on the beaches of Brant Rock. She graduated from Marshfield High School in 1976.
Suzanne worked for the US Postal Service for over 30 years. She loved spending time with family and friends, and taking vacations, especially to Key West. In her retirement, she enjoyed watching her hummingbirds, going to the beach, trips to the casino, and many adventures with her mother, Sally.
She was the beloved mother and grandmother to daughter, Jessica, and son, Michael, his wife Emily, and grandsons Brandon and Evan. She leaves behind sisters Teresa Contois, Jacqueline Stack, Jeanne Davis, and Christine Tompkins, and many brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) Whitman with visiting hours from 3 to 5 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering at The Meadowbrook Restaurant at 1486 Main St, Hanson, following the service.
