Obituary

John W. Lally, age 81, a life long resident of Woburn died April 14th at the Winchester Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Quirk) Lally. Born in Woburn he was the son of the late Patrick and Josephine (Gowan) Lally.

Mr. Lally was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He served with the 569th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion in Central Europe. In more recent years, Mr. Lally enjoyed reunions with members of his military division. He wrote a book about his war experiences and would share copies with fellow veterans. Mr. Lally was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Lally was a retired warehouse manager. He worked for many years at the Colonial Tanning Co. in Boston and Also worked for many years at the KLH Stereo Co. in Cambridge.

In addition to his beloved wife, Mr. Lally is survived by his daughter, Nancy Salemi and her husband Joe of Woburn, two sons, Richard C. Lally and his wife Jill, of Woburn, and Jack W. Lally and his wife Kristi of Stoneham. He is also survived by six loving grandchildren; Noelle Salemi, Joie Marie Walsh, Jesse Lally, Sgt. Evan J. Lally U.S. Army, Jennifer Lally and Julia Lally. He is further survived by two loving great grandchildren. Brother of Lorraine Giffune of Woburn and Joyce Lally of Ft. Myers, FL.

Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Wednesday, at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 main St. Woburn, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, at 2 PM.
