Steven Gerard McTomney, 56, of Bellingham passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family at his home on November 8. He was the husband of Susan Ann (Walsh) McTomney for the past twelve years.
Born in Boston, June 15, 1965, the son of John and Geraldine (Grady) McTomney of Hyde Park, Steven was raised in the Boston area and had lived in Bellingham for the past 21 years.
A graduate of Dedham High School, Steven had been a corrections officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at M.C. Walpole and M.C. Norfolk for 30 years before retiring.
Steven enjoyed playing hockey, following Boston sports teams and doing projects around his home.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his children, Kevin McTomney and his companion Lauren Carroll of Bellingham, Michaela McTomney and her companion Austin Nunn of Bellingham, and Erin McTomney of Bellingham.
He is also survived by his stepchildren, Kelsey Bertone Doyon and her husband Jon of Millbury and Abbie Bertone and her companion Matt Woodward of Millbury.
He was the brother of William McTomney and his significant other Deborah Hiron of Liverpool, New York and Robin McTomney of Hyde Park.
He is also survived by his niece and nephew, Ava and Andrew McTomney and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church Franklin at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.
Burial will be private.
